Something a bit different

If you are like me, you get tired of the same ol' music that a lot of the mainstream performers are pumping out nowadays.  Well, let me suggest a change of pace.  A rather amusing change at times.

If you haven't listened to them, find some way to listen to some before buying a CD anything (surely you can find someone that might have some samples - hint hint...).

Two of my most listened to groups right now are Dropkick Murphys and Flogging Molly.  These two bands have a bit of a style difference, but both are "Irish Punk/Alternative".  Dropkick Murphys tends to be more Irish Punk than anything else.  Flogging Molly is more what might be called "traditional" due to the instrument mix, and they are more rock/alternative.  But as I mentioned, they are "Irish".  So most of the songs are about drinking, which is always fun to listen to!  But it is just a nice change to the mainstream U.S. stuff that is the same artist after artist with different lyrics.

So if any of you would like to give them a try, let me know and I might be able to link up a couple of the songs.  A few good ones are "Finnegan's Wake" by Dropkick Murphys and "Salty Dog" or "Rebels of the Sacred Heart" by Flogging Molly.
