exciting night

Well we managed to make it through the big storm. Luckily as it moved into Pontotoc County, it started to turn more east, and ended up way south of Ada and Latta (thank goodness!). But we still got some really needed rain though, so I am glad for that. Now we just need a little more of that and we should be good.

Things here are going pretty good. The kids are still being rowdy, and that is always a good thing. Oh, but one interesting thing... Our friends about a mile from us, Harley and Nicole, had a stabbing next door to their house last night. Harley said he heard people yelling "shoot him! shoot him!" over and over. Next thing he knew their were cop cars everywhere and then ambulances. So see, there are crazy people everywhere, and unfortunately, sometimes they are your neighbor. Even in a little place like Latta! haha... But Harley and Nicole (and Chloe and Tessy) were all ok, so we were very glad.

Randi has been kind of running the shop where she works. Her boss's son passed away about two weeks ago, so her boss has been out quite a bit, as to be expected.

I am fighting my way through another semester. This biology class was probably not a good idea, at least with the professor I ended up taking it with. He gave us a 30 minute PowerPoint slide over the intro to genetics and then spent about 7 minutes showing us how to figure genotype and phenotypes using the distributive method and punnett squares. Then on he ended class and told us he would have someone in class bring us a homework assignment to do Wednesday during class to figure the genotype and phenotype ratios for up to 4-5 traits per parent. Needless to say, I just really have a hard time wrapping my brain around that much figuring. Now if it was completely laying out 10 pages of HTML code, piece of cake! haha..

Oh, and I also survived my big presentation last week. It ended up not being that big of a deal. I got to give a presentation to all the administrators about the new intranet project we launched about a month ago. The Governor was supposed to be in there, but he had to cut out. Then the administrators were eating lunch while I was speaking, so that was kind of different to deal with. But I made it through it and now maybe I won't have to do that for a while again!
