Something funny from school

Just something funny my professor in economics did Tuesday. He had been looking at Super Bowl ticket prices the night before, and was looking at stubhub.com and oklahomatickets.com. He couldn't remember which one of these sites he found this on, but it was one of those.

He wrote on the board:
Super Bowl, luxury suite, 40 yard line, fully catered. What is the price for 1 ticket?

Well, it is almost ridiculous, but someone (or some company) apparently purchased this because it isn't out there anymore.

The price is just insane though! And the price......................

$250,000.00!

Man, to have the money to blow that on 1 ticket to the Super Bowl, that would be nice!

Shoot, I was just looking at oklahomatickets.com and on there for crappy end zone tickets, upper level, they are wanting about $2,500!

We got rain!

We couldn't believe our ears this morning! We were just waking up and thought we heard a familiar sound, but not one we have heard in a long time. I jumped up out of bed to see, yes, that is right, RAIN!! It is such a welcome relief! If only we could have got more rain. I think it managed to rain/sprinkle until around 10:00. We didn't get just a whole lot, but we got enough to put a damper on the fear of our yard going up in flames. We would have liked to have seen more of Oklahoma get rain, but I think it is everyone's thinking that what little we can get, where we can get it, helps more than nothing.

Also, just to let you all know, I have also started a Myspace account. Not really sure why, just wanted to try it out. I'm going to see if I can help hook some musicians in the southern part of Oklahoma up with dad and his group in Stillwater. If you want to check it out, my address there is http://www.myspace.com/jonathanmoffat.

Cool design for a MP3 player

I was cruising the Staples website the other night (one of my favorite things to do.. haha), and came across a pretty cool design for an MP3 player. It is by Creative, and it is the Muvo model. Here is a link to it:
Creative Muvo Mix MP3 player. The player comes apart, and you plug the USB portion into your computer to copy the files to it. AWESOME!

The price isn't bad either really, well under $100. I think this might be the one that I try to get here pretty soon. I think what I like about it too is that it can be used not only to store and play MP3 or WMA files, but that you can also use it as a USB flash drive to store documents or move files from computer to computer. Pretty cool looking deal to me. If I get one, I will let you all know if they are as good as they look..haha...

2nd day update

Well, other than the fact that for some reason they now have 2 of the parking lots closed off, so I had to park illegally on the side of a street to go to class, it went ok.. haha.

It is crazy, there are 2 huge areas to park at, and they have both of them shut off. Hopefully they are going to find somewhere else for people to park at because at 11 in the morning, there is no where to park.

Anyway, econ seems to maybe be ok. The professor seems ok. Just seems like it is going to be a lot of reading.

He did give us 2 excellent online resources for finding government statistics that we will need during class, so that was pretty cool.

The day started pretty interesting. There we were, about 40 of us sitting in room # 202, waiting on the professor. Well, about 10 minutes past when the class was to start, and still no professor. So one of the girls behind me pulled her schedule out that she had just printed yesterday, and what do you know… It listed the class as being in room #218. So we went and checked, and sure enough, they had moved the class to a different room and didn’t bother to put a note up or email us or anything to tell us the class had changed. So it was pretty funny as all 40 of us got up and went down the hall to the new room. In all there are about 65 people in the class which is big for ECU. Hopefully some will get weeded out so we can get more interactive time instead of just lecture.

Anyway, school seems to probably be ok this semester. I will keep you updated as we get further into the semester.

1st day and still alive

Well, I did it. I made it through my first day of school after about 10 years. Wasn't sure if I would be able to bring myself to go, but I did and it seems ok.

My computer programming class actually seems like it is going to be pretty fun. I'm excited about getting into it more. Now tomorrow is my first day of econ, and well, not sure about that one! haha.. I took a similar class at OSU, and it wasn't very nice to me. But hopefully with 10 years of "real world" under my belt, maybe it will be a bit easier this time.

Well, we are all still alive and kicking down here. Kaitlyn's cough still hasn't gone away yet, but it seems that the asthma medication we have her on is helping her from loosing her breath when she coughs. So now we just need to get rid of the cough and we will be home free! lol..

I guess that is it for now. I will be back tomorrow night with a report from day 2. haha..

Kaitlyn's update

Well, Kaitlyn is still a bit under the weather, so I took her to the doctor's today. While we were there they went ahead and did the 15 month checkup (a couple weeks early).

She is weighing 21lbs 2.5 oz.
She is now 28.5" tall.

She is a growing little thing! And I can definitely tell she is gaining weight! haha.. She is getting heavy to carry around.

Then the doctor came in and we found out that we have an ear infection again. Just the right ear this time though, not both. So we have her back on medicine for that.

Then for the bad cough and wheezing sound, we are back on liquid albuterol. So he is still thinking that it is the asthma giving her problems. It is probably that on top of her nose running like crazy. He didn't say anything about allergies, but Randi and I are thinking that we may need to see about getting her tested for allergies, since both Randi and I have them and ours have been bad lately, and she sounds like us when we have allergy fits.

Anyway, that is it for now. I am still trying to tell myself that going back to school is going to be easy! haha.. I start back this Wednesday. Economics and computer programming. What a pair of classes! Luckily I have a computer programmer in my office, so I told him that he has a busy semester ahead of him! lol...

Well that is all for now. I have to get around and get to bed. This school boy needs some sleep!
