Happy Holidays!!
I am sorry that it has been so long since I have updated the site. But I have some new pictures I will be passing along soon. This one I just had to put on here.
This was from Christmas Eve at Randi's folks. Randi would unwrap Kaitlyn's presents and then lay the outfits on her, and each time she would just get the biggest smile!!
I have more pictures and will be getting them posted soon.
We never got the time to get out Christmas cards, and we do apologize for that, but I did make us up one and got it online late Christmas Eve. So if you haven't seen it yet, you can use this link: http://www.backroaddesign.com/jonandrandi/christmas.

We went to Stillwater last weekend to do some visiting, and on the right side menu of this page, you will find a link for Moffat Family Visit, in which you will find some new photos of everyone. So enjoy!

This was the other part of my exciting day in the previous post. Never before have I met a man that has actually caught their tie in a paper shredder.... Until now... haha.. that is right, I, Jonathan Moffat, have now officially had a tie eaten by the all-mighty paper shredder. Since this is the first casualty of our office, we are going to have it framed and hung in the lobby with pride.. haha.. fun times we have here.. lol...

Exciting day for Jonathan
Well, I had a pretty interesting day, even though it was much longer than it needed to be, and then adding the night class onto it, it was an extremely long day.. haha..
But, I am proud to say that I started my enrollment process today to get into East Central University in Ada. So I am going to start back to college and finish my degree (notice that I didn't say "try to finish...") . My employer offers a 90% tuition reimbursement program, so I am going to take advantage of that, and get my degree!!
So to some, that probably doesn't seem all that big of a deal, but for those of you that know me, you know this is pretty big. One of the main reasons I'm so happy that I'm getting to go back and finish my degree is one of my memories of my Grandpa Moffat.
I remember at Phillip's graduation, Randi and I were talking with my Grandpa, and I remember us talking to him about Randi and her school, and how it was going. He paused afterwards, took Randi by the hand, and said to her "You make sure that boy finishes college, I know you will". I have never forgotten that statement, nor has Randi. So now it doesn't feel like I'm just doing it for me. I feel like I'm doing it for my new family and my Grandpa. So it is special now.
Anyway, I know that was a lot of rambling to get my point across, but I just felt like talking. I have another picture to add in a few minutes of my other part of my exciting (stupid) day at work. So keep watching.

Kaitlyn's First Holiday fun
Kaitlyn had her first holiday get-together Saturday night when we attended the Grinstead (Randi's side of the family) Thanksgiving at Uncle Stephen and Aunt Brenda's house in Lone Grove. The dinner which had an Italian theme, was AWESOME!! Thanks to them for inviting us, and we look forward to the next one.
Kaitlyn's Dr. Appointment update
Well, the doctor was really impressed with Kaitlyn. He said that she seems to be doing wonderful, and that her jaundice is gone.
If you will remember, she was exactly 8 pounds at birth, and when we left the hospital she was 7.5 pounds. Last Friday she was 8 pounds, 1 ounce, so she is gaining her weight back. The doctor said he would have liked her to be closer to 8.5 pounds, but that she was looking good. Her length had her growing that way as well, but the doctor said that isn't always accurate. But at the doctor's, she was 20 inches long, which is up from 19 at birth.
So the doctor wants her back to weigh her this coming Friday, to see if she hits the 8.5 pound mark, but after that, it will be 2 months before she goes back.

Kaitlyn just growing and growing...
About 3 nights ago, the rest of Kaitlyn's cord fell off, so she is growing (I am told) haha.. So after that, we decided the next night we would give her a bath. And well, I am the son of Stan, so I have to take pictures (making you proud dad lol...) . So over on the right of the page under Picture Links is a link for Kaitlyn's First Bath. These are those wonderful pictures that I will get to save and show to her and her boys that she brings home. And I even have some video.. haha!!! Bring on the boys!! lol....
Anyway, we have our first outing this weekend. We have an early Thanksgiving get-together with part of Randi's family. So Kaitlyn will be more popular than the newest kids toy! haha.. Might have some more after that too.
Tomorrow, Friday, is Kaitlyn's first doctors appointment. We aren't really sure what to expect, but we are just mainly hoping that her jaundice is cleared up. So I will let all know what we find out then.

New photos (finally...)
Dad got on to me tonight when I called home, since I didn't have my pictures of Kaitlyn up yet. But they are there now. Sorry it took so long, but shouldn't run into this again. So you should see a link on the right of the page for Kaitlyn's pictures.
If you want a full size of any of the images, just shoot me an email and I will send you the larger image.
Tomorrow I get to drive Randi to the doctors to get her staples out. I'm not looking forward to that, since it was hard enough to see them cut her open. So then maybe about a week later, she will be able to drive herself again. But in the mean time, I am enjoying getting to spoil her, and get to do everything for her. I told her with the amount of pain she went through for this child, keeping the house in order for 6 weeks is an easy trade-off... haha..

Say hello to Kaitlyn Brooke...
Welcome Kaitlyn, we love you!!
That is what Kaitlyn got to hear all day Saturday when she arrived. That's right! Kaitlyn Brooke Moffat arrived Saturday, October 23, 2004 at 10:54am. She came out a whopping 8lbs even, and 19" long.
The delivery went well. There was some concern as to if Randi would be able to do a normal delivery, so after we consulted with her doctor, we decided that a C/section was the best choice at the time. So in went Randi, just as calm as could be, and then followed soon after was me, shaking so much I couldn't even put on the mask and hat they brought me to wear. But it was a great day. It took all of about 15 minutes in the delivery room, followed by about 45 minutes in recovery for Randi. We had a great time after the ordeal with lots of family and love surrounding us. Thanks to everyone that stopped by, called, and just sent their love. We appreciate it all.
Now, since I'm a dad now, and I have a camera, you better believe that there will be lots of pics. I have about 50 just from yesterday that I am going to get online soon, and that will be followed by the rest of the ones we get while in the hospital.. haha... That's right, I'm one proud dad (and one very proud husband)!

IT'S BABY TIME!!
Met with the doctor this afternoon, and it is baby time!! Randi and I check in tomorrow, and they are going to start her on some medications and IVs. The plan is that Saturday morning, if her water doesn't break on its own, he will break her water and hopefully 12-14 hours later, there will be little Kaitlyn.
The doctor said it is still a 50/50 chance that he may have to do a C-section, depending on any distress that might arise due to her high blood pressure and diabetes. But the plan is to have a normal birth.
So, wish us luck! We are sooo excited! I will get some pictures posted for all to see as quick as I can. Guess the next time I post, I will be "daddy" Jonathan... :)

Doctor's appointment yesterday
Just an update from the appointment we had yesterday. Still no word on when they might go ahead and take the baby. She was moving a lot during the non-stress test, and her heart rate is great. But the mid-wife just said that she would talk to the doctor and then we have to go back Thursday for another non-stress test, and then maybe we will get to talk to the doctor.
In the earlier appointments, they said they would go ahead and induce her at 39 weeks, and that is this coming Saturday. So who knows what the doctor has decided to do now.. haha..

Updated ultrasound photos and....
I wanted to let you all know that I have put the new ultrasound photos online. You can use the 'Ultrasound Photos' link on the right side of this page to view them. I added them to the existing ultrasound photos. They are the last 6 when you view the gallery. I have also added a description with each of the pics to sort of explain what you are looking at.
We go to the doctor on Monday, and we are meeting with "the" doctor. We are getting close now. We are hoping that we might be able to schedule a day when we meet with him. Anyway, if that happens, I will let you all know!

Ultrasound update
Just wanted to let everyone know about the ultrasound we had today in OKC.
The doctor said everything looks good. We are STILL having a girl.. haha.. She has a little hair on her head. She weighs in at about 7 lbs (6lb 15oz to be exact). The computer did move Randi's due date up from Oct. 27th to Oct. 23rd. So we might have her here the weekend after my birthday!!
Another cool thing about the ultrasound was that we got to see her mouth move like she was eating.
I also have some pictures to put online from the ultrasound, but those will have to wait until tomorrow.

Festival pictures
Just wanted to let everyone know that I have the festival pictures I was speaking about online now. Again, just some general shots I took of things I thought were cool. To find the photos that my department took for the Chickasaw Nation, you can go to www.chickasaw.net and then click the banner on the front for the Chickasaw Nation Meeting and Festival. That will take you to the picture section. We have tons of pictures we are picking through for that, so not all events have been populated yet.

OKC ultrasound next Tuesday
Well, for those of you watching the calendar, we have less than 3 weeks left, and there will be a new addition to our family. Things are going good, and Randi has been going to the doctor's office 2 times a week for non-stress tests, and everything has been good.
This next Tuesday, Oct. 12, we have another high-resolution ultrasound in OKC at the OU Health Center. These are the ultrasounds that her doctor here is having her do since she is a high-risk pregnancy.
So there might be some new pictures of little Kaitlyn next week, we will just have to see if we get a good ultrasound tech that knows what they are doing, unlike last time.
Now, for those of you wondering.... "hmmm... is he getting nervous yet?"... Well, the answer to that question would be YYYYEEEESSSS!!!!! I'm very nervous, but way more excited. This is such a huge blessing that I'm not that scared at all... Plus, I know that between my family and Randi's family, we have a support network like no other! Thanks to all of them, we love you very much!

Fun at the Festival
Well, some of you might have noticed the image up there by the page title. I just added that today. It is a picture taken of me and Randi at the Chickasaw Nation Annual Festival and Meeting. I was "Mr. Press", and it was pretty cool. I had a blast getting to cover that for the first time. Lots of new things to see and do.
There was also new things to eat, but most of you that know me well, well... you know I'm not one for new foods... lol...
Anyway, it is a week long festival that takes place the last week of September every year. So next year, if you are looking for something fun to do and especially if you are into museums and learning about other cultures, come out and check it out. I'm sure I will be there again every day next year, so come out and join me.
I'm going to be putting some pictures that I took of the festival online this weekend. I think over the days I covered, I took around 800 + photos. So I will narrow those down to the good ones.. :)

Baby shower photos are online....
The photos from the baby shower are online. The link is located over there on the right side of the page under Photo Links.
It was a great shower, and thanks again to everyone that was able to make it, as well as the wonderful hosts!
Also in the photo gallery are a few shots of all the stuff back home, and the BIG gift all put together. Randi spent a long time working on it, and she did a great job getting it together. Now, we just need the baby... haha...

Baby Shower...
Randi and I would like to extend another big "thank you" to all that came to the shower, and a big "missed you" to those that weren't able to come.
It was a really good turn out and some fun games and good snacks! haha.. You can see the part of it that I liked...lol.. I even won the first game, that was cool, since I don't normally win much in the way of door prizes.
Thanks to everyone for the wonderful gifts. Randi and I just finished going through them again, and this time I was able to get her to go a bit more slowly so we could take them in... Kaitlyn is really lucky for all the great stuff she will have starting her out. So thanks again to everyone!
I have some pictures I took of the event, and I will get them online tomorrow so all can see. Thanks again to everyone! Think, just about 1 more month, and I will be a dad. Sort of scary, huh?? lol...

My big sis
Just a short note to congradulate my big sister and her husband. They are now expecting kid #2! Congrats Heather and Paul!!
Randi's stress tests
Well, Randi has been going to stress tests at her doctors, and will be going twice a week for a while. Basically, she just goes in and they hook her up to a bunch of machines and monitor the baby. The first one gave us a glimse of what is to come. Right after they hooked her up, the baby started kicking. Not just kicking, but kicking the spots where the monitor hook-ups were. It would nock the monitoring equipment offline and they would have to reset it. She ended up having to do that several times throughout the test.. haha.. Go Kaitlyn! lol....

Some cool stuff
Just a little note of something cool to check out if you want to. My employer is sending me through the Dale Carnegie course. It is one night a week for 12 weeks, at least the one I'm going through is. The website for the Dale Carnegie training is: http://www.dale-carnegie.com/. The training covers a lot of different areas of your personal and professional lives and how to manage the 2 and improve them.
I wasn't that sure about this course before I went. I kind of saw it like the evil speech class at OSU that killed me. But after seeing the VERY impressive list of "graduates" of the course that have done amazing things with their lives, I knew this would be a great thing. I have just been to the first class so far which was kind of an introduction and stuff. So maybe down the road I can give you all some more insite to it all. Just thought I would share this with you all.

Kaitlyn's newest photo shoot
Ok, sorry for the delay, but here it is. Here is the face ultrasound picture that we got on Tuesday. In the picture, her head is turned to the side, and you can see her eyes, nose, mouth and chubby cheeks. :) This, I have to say, made it real for me! In one of the views, the nurse even pointed out some hair on her head. We got to see her hands and feet, and she was kicking her feet around when the nurse found them.

Baby Update
Randi had an ultrasound this morning at Valley View Regional Hospital in Ada. The baby is weighing in at an awesome 4lbs, 3oz! The nurse said everything looked good, and that it is still a girl.. haha.. The computer has her due date moved from October 30th to October 27th, so she may have it a bit earlier than we thought. She is in the breech position right now, but the nurse didn't seem that concerned about that, but we will have to watch it. We have good ultrasound picture of Kaitlyn's face, and I will get it posted tomorrow. Just wanted to let everyone know how the appointment went.

Doctor day updates...
We visited the doctor this afternoon, and was told the same thing we have been every time, "things are looking good". He did go ahead and schedule Randi for a growth update ultra sound next Tuesday.
Randi said that she can feel the baby move around more and more each day it seems. And she is getting a pretty good idea as to what the baby does and doesn't like to eat.. haha..

Randi's nephew, Ashton's, 2nd birthday party
Randi and I went to Moore to her nephew's 2nd birthday party today, Sunday. It was a good party and everyone had fun, especially Ashton! We rode up there with Randi's parents, Vicki and Travis, which was good for all on the way home, when Travis needed to stop at Krispy Kreme donuts for a dozen of chocolate favorites! Nice little sugar buzz for the ride home. Actually, turned out to pretty much knock me out for the ride home, so I had a good little nap.. haha...
I added photos from the birthday party to our galleries, and are listed to the right of this article.

Saturday with my Grandparents
I was lucky to be able to spend some time with my Grandpa Moffat outside of the hospitals he has been in for the past many months. This was Saturday, August 21st. My mom, dad and younger brother where there also, so we got to sit around and visit and eat lunch together before he had to go back. It was a great day for everyone!

New Photos Added
I have moved over the Ultra Sound pictures to the new site. You will notice that there are a couple of sections to the right for pictures and links. Trying to get things organized for when she arrives. I figure I will be taking so many pictures all the time, I need things to be quick to get them online. haha...

Welcome everyone!
Welcome to the new page. This is an easier way for both Randi and I to be able to keep both of our families up-to-date on what is happening to the Moffat's in the ol' town of Roff, OK.
I am going to be putting all the pictures from our old page on here so that we will still have those, and will be adding some other features soon. Also, as we get any video, like the 3D ultra sound or when she is born, I will be linking that off this page as well. Again, thanks for stopping by!
